This is a reminder about the MLK Day of Service, happening Monday, January 19th–Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day!–in the school cafeteria from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
This event is hosted by the Mt. Hope Learning Center, in collaboration with The Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). Art students from RISD volunteer their time to work with children from the community in celebration of the message of Dr. King. All are welcome! Activities include face painting, silk screening t-shirts (make your own!), apple printing, splash painting, mural projects, jewelry making, and lots more! RISD students will also be showing some of their artwork. Your children can bring their own artwork to share at the event, as well! There will also be storytelling, step dancing by the MHLC Steppers, music, and other performances throughout the day. Bring your dancing shoes!
