Big thanks to all who made the annual MLK Harvest Fest a success! We raised in the neighborhood of $500 for the PTO with our sales of food (including donated baked goods!), pumpkins, mums, and raffle tickets. Special thanks go out to the parents who volunteered their time, whether through helping with set up/clean up, baking cookies and other tasty treats, or manning a table at the event. Without your support, the MLK PTO would not be a success!
FYI: As Mrs. Lussier mentioned in a ParentLink call this week, there is some road construction underway in front of the school on Camp Street. Please stay tuned for updates regarding parking. Mrs. Lussier will share the road paving schedule as she receives more information.

Our MLK Scholastic Book Fair is right around the corner! The dates for this event will be November 17-21. Please consider signing up for a shift or two at http://www.signupgenius.com/go/60b084daaae2bab9-mlkbook. Slots are in 1 hour increments; feel free to sign up for two or more slots in a row if you can help for more than 1 hour. The book fair is run entirely by parent volunteers, so your participation is much appreciated! Also, this year there will be a new incentive for parent volunteers. Each parent who volunteers at least an hour of time will earn a book credit to be used either by the parent to purchase a gift for his/her child, or to be used by the child when visiting the book fair with his/her classroom. Please e-mail Kristina at firstname.lastname@example.org for more details!
Mt. Hope Learning Center will be hosting a Frozen Fall Family Formal on Friday, November 7th, 2014 from 6:00pm-8:30pm at MLK. It will be a great night of dancing, food, and magical moments!!! Please call MHLC at 455-8875 for tickets.
